NC State Starts Strong at NCAA Regional

Round One Results
NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Led by top-12 performances from Carter Page and James Chapman, the NC State men's golf team enjoyed a strong first day of action at the 2015 NCAA New Haven (Yale) Regional. Through one round of play at the Course at Yale, the Wolfpack is tied for sixth with a team score of 289 (+9).
The top five teams at each of the six NCAA Regionals will advance to the 2015 NCAA Golf Championship (May 29 -- June 3) at the Concession Golf Club in Bradenton, Fla. In addition to the advancing teams, the top individual golfer not on an advancing team will move on from each NCAA Regional to the NCAA Championship. NC State is only three strokes back of the current fifth-place team, No. 20 Oklahoma State.

NICE FINISH
Looking at a +2 round through 12 holes, Page recorded five pars and one birdie throughout the final six in order to tie for the team low round with his 71 (+1).
THREE BELOW THE COURSE AVERAGE
Three of NC State's five golfers shot below the course average of 73.63 on Thursday. Page (71), Chapman (71), and David Cooke (73) each finished below this mark while Stanhope Johnson (74) came in narrowly above it.
TEEING OFF TOMORROW
Colby Lyles will begin things for the Pack Friday morning at 8 a.m. from hole ten. Following him will be Johnson (8:11), Cooke (8:22), Chapman (8:33), and Page (8:44).
