Wolfpack Ties for Fifth at Gary Koch Invitational

Final Results
GASTONIA, N.C. -- Dropping ten strokes from its prior best score of the tournament, the NC State men's golf team shot an impressive 283 (-5) on Tuesday at the 2015 Gary Koch Invitational to improve from eighth place to a team finish of fifth. Following three times through the course at the Gaston Country Club, NC State carded a cumulative score of 877 (+13) to tie for fifth with Ohio State and Winthrop.

The Season Record
By posting a W-L-T mark of 8-4-2 at the Gary Koch Invitational this week, NC State has improved its overall season record to 78-47-3 with just one tournament remaining prior to the 2015 ACC Championships.
Finishing Strong
In nine tournaments this season, the Wolfpack has carded its best score in the final round on eight occasions. In the last three completed tournaments, NC State is averaging 279 strokes per final round, or an average of nine shots below par.
Individually, four of five NC State golfers shot their best rounds on Tuesday. David Cooke (68), Stanhope Johnson (71), Jacob McBride (71), and James Chapman (73) all showed at least a one-stroke improvement from their prior best round at the Gary Koch Invitational.
Top 20
Tying for 18th in the field of 81 golfers, Carter Page earned his fourth and the team's 11th top-20 finish of the season. Page has also finished in the top 20 at the Mission Inn Spring Spectacular (T8), The Wolfpack Intercollegiate (T11), and the Chris Schenkel Invitational (T16th).
What's Next?
The Wolfpack returns to action at home on April 18 when it hosts the two-day Wolfpack Spring Open at Lonnie Poole Golf Course in Raleigh. NC State will then travel to New London, N.C., for the 2015 ACC Championships from April 24-26.
