GASTONIA, N.C. -- The NC State men's golf team is tied for eighth place in the field of 15 teams following two rounds of play at the 2015 Gary Koch Invitational. The Wolfpack shot a two-round score of 594 (+18) at Gaston Country Club, carding a 301 in the first round before dropping eight strokes its second time through the course to shoot a 293.
Carter Page (T11) led the Pack on the first day, shooting 71-72 to end with a 143 (-1).
Stanhope Johnson (T32) and James Chapman (T45) rank second and third for State, carding marks of 149 (+5) and 151 (+7), respectively. Each of these two Wolfpackers improved their second time through the course. Johnson dropped five strokes to shoot an even-par 72 in the second round while Chapman dropped one stroke from his opening-round 76.
Jacob McBride (T51) and David Cooke (T55) rounded out the first day for State. McBride shot a 152 (+8) over two rounds and Cooke shot a 153 (+9).
The third and final round of the Gary Koch Invitational will begin on Tuesday morning.
