Pack Completes First Day of ACC Championship

NEW LONDON, N.C. -- The NC State men's golf team completed the first day of action at the 2015 ACC Championship on Friday afternoon at Old North State Country Club. Through one round of play, NC State is tied for 10th place with a team score of 303 (+15).
Paired with Notre Dame and Boston College to start the tournament on Friday morning, NC State finished with the exact same team score as its first-round counterparts. Carter Page shot the best score of all 15 golfers in this pairing of teams, carding an even-par 72 to end the day tied for 16th.

TOUGH COURSE
The Old North State Club proved difficult on Friday, as 14 of the club's 18 holes resulted in average scores above the established par. A total of 34 double bogies or worse were shot by the field on Friday compared to just two eagles. The average score was 74.17 strokes.
IMPROVING THE AVERAGE
Carter Page's first-round 72 was a full stroke lower than his season average of 73.0 and 2.05 strokes lower than his career average of 74.05. Following Friday's round, 14 of Page's 29 rounds on the season have been shot at or below par.
Tee times for the second round of the competition will begin Saturday morning at 8:30 a.m.
