Wolfpack Opens #ACCWTEN Championship Play Against Wake Forest

RALEIGH, N.C.- After closing out its regular season play at No. 12 Virginia on Sunday, the NC State women's tennis team will open the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Women's Tennis Championship on Wednesday when it faces Wake Forest for the second time this season.
The two will matchup at 12 p.m. in round one at Cary Tennis Park, as the championship will run through Sunday in Cary, N.C.
Heading into the tournament, Wake Forest (14-12, 4-10 ACC) will hold the No. 11 seed, while the Pack (10-15, 1-13 ACC) is listed as the No. 14 seed. The winner of the match will face the sixth seed, Georgia Tech, at 3 p.m. on Thursday.
Last Time Out
NC State fell to Virginia, 7-0, Sunday afternoon at Snyder Tennis Center in its final match of the regular season.
Last Time Versus Wake Forest
NC State faced Wake Forest on the road on April 12. The Pack fell to the Demon Deacons, 4-3, at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex.
The Pack clinched the doubles point on courts two and three, and grabbed points in singles play from seniors Nicole Martinez and Sophie Nelson on courts three and five, respectively.
Scouting Wake Forest
In its last time out Wake fell to No. 23 Duke, 5-2, on the road.
In the ITA singles rankings, sophomore Kimmy Guerin is listed at No. 120, as she leads the squad with 14 wins in singles play on the dual season and holds as many wins in doubles competition.
