RALEIGH -- Led by individual medalist David Cooke, the NC State men's golf team comfortably cruised to victory at the 2015 Wolfpack Spring Open, winning the 11-team tournament with a final score of 551 (-17) over the course of two rounds at Lonnie Poole Golf Course.
Cooke's title is the second of his career and the second of the season, as he won the Wolfpack Intercollegiate at Lonnie Poole Golf Course this past October. His victory marks the 88th time in program history that a Wolfpacker has claimed medalist honors. The junior won the tournament by three strokes, shooting a 132 (-10) to defeat teammate James Chapman (135, -7).

The Wolfpack Spring Open was the second straight tournament NC State has won when playing at its on-campus Lonnie Poole Golf Course. NC State won the Wolfpack Intercollegiate (Oct. 7, 2014) by nine strokes.
Cooke's Quote
"I like our home course," medalist David Cooke said. "We play it a lot, I know it well, and it suits my game. I try not to beat myself out there, leave the ball in the right spots, and stay patient. (I try not) to get too caught up in the numbers and just hit good shots, one shot at a time."
Coach Sykes Says
"We've gotten better all spring," NC State head coach Richard Sykes said. "We'll see if we can just keep improving."
