Women's Tennis Drops Friday Matchup at Syracuse

SYRACUSE, N.Y.- The NC State women's tennis team fell to Syracuse, 5-2, at Drumlins Tennis Center Friday afternoon.
`Cuse improves to 8-11 (3-9 ACC) while the Wolfpack moves to 10-14 (1-12 ACC) on the season.
Match Highlights
NC State took the doubles point with wins on court one and three. The duo of Sophie Nelson and Liza Fieldsend defeated Syracuse's Nicole Mitchell and Breanna Bachini, 8-2, on court No. 3.
The tandem of Joanna Nalborska and Natalia Janowicz grabbed the other match win to clinch the doubles point, as it earned an 8-3 victory over Valeria Salazar and Komal Safdar on the first court.
Nelson and Fieldsend improve their doubles record to 2-3, and Nalborska and Janowicz improve theirs to 4-3 on the season.
Tayla Stenta picked up a match point for the Pack on court six, as she defeated Mitchell, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4. The freshman now holds a 10-9 record on the season in singles play.

NC State will travel to No. 12 Virginia Sunday for its final match of the regular season. The matchup is slated for a 12 p.m. start at Snyder Tennis Center.
