Final Stats
RALEIGH, N.C. -The No. 27 NC State men's tennis team capped off its non-conference portion of the schedule with a convincing 6-1 win over UNC-Wilmington. After a long stretch of road matches, the Pack returned home to defend its home court and improve to 10-3 overall.
Match Highlights:
NC State swept the doubles matches as it jumped out to a 1-0 lead. No. 12 Robbie Mudge and Ian Dempster provided the Wolfpack with the first doubles win after defeating UNCW's duo of Christaan Van der Burgh and Taylor Cramer, 8-2.
Nick Horton and Thomas Weigel would follow with an 8-3 victory, while Austin Powell and Simon Norenius wrapped up doubles play with an 8-4 win.
In singles, the Pack went with its experienced line up. As has been the case for so many times this season, the upperclassmen paced State to victory.
Powell handled the Seahawks' Sam William with ease, winning 6-1, 6-1. The Muscle Shoals, Ala., native was the first to finish in singles play to give the Pack a 2-0 lead.
Norenius would follow moments later with a 6-1, 6-2 win. The junior has won nine matches in a row and 11 matches this season. He is also one of the most versatile players on the squad - having played in five different spots in the lineup this season.
Mudge clinched the match for the Pack with another straight-set victory while Weigel and Horton followed, each winning in straight sets.

NC State will prepare for conference play as it faces a pair of conference opponents over the weekend. The Wolfpack travels to UNC-Chapel Hill onFridayfor itsACC opener, which is slated to begin at2:30. On Saturday, the Pack is back at home for a3 p.m.match against Louisville.
