RALEIGH – The NC State women’s basketball team returns home for two straight games this week, the first of which is a Thursday evening contest with Pittsburgh. The Wolfpack and Panthers will tip-off inside Reynolds Coliseum at 7 p.m.

NOTING THE WOLFPACK

-All three of NC State’s starting guards average at least 10.1 points per game.

APPROACHING 600 WINS AND VERY ELITE COMPANY
With a career head coaching record of 595-186 (.761), Wes Moore is just five wins away from his 600th victory. If the milestone is achieved within the Wolfpack’s next 19 games, Moore will become just the ninth coach in NCAA history to achieve 600 victories in 800 games or less. Among the notable coaches who have met this criteria: Geno Auriemma and Pat Summitt.
HOW MAY I ASSIST?
In addition to her strong scoring this season, Miah Spencer has also been a great distributor of the ball. The sophomore captain has dished out 78 assists on the season to average 3.7 per game. Her 10 assists against Mount St. Mary’s were the most by an NC State player since Monica Pope’s 12 against Iowa State on Nov. 25, 2005. Spencer has recorded 5+ assists in five separate games this season.
SCOUTING THE PANTHERS
-Pittsburgh enters Thursday’s game the owner of a 14-7 record which includes a 4-4 mark in ACC play.
-So far in league play this year, the Panthers have defeated UNC-CH, Georgia Tech, Boston College, and Miami.
-Pittsburgh has lost to Louisville, Florida State, Syracuse, and Duke in ACC games.
-Brianna Kiesel leads the way offensively for the Panthers, scoring 18.1 points per game to rank fourth in the ACC.
-Pittsburgh ranks 18th in the NCAA in blocked shots per game (5.8) and 19th in assist to turnover ratio (1.19).
-The Panthers are coached by Suzie McConnell-Serio. She is in her second season with Pittsburgh and has earned a record of 25-27 since becoming the program’s eighth head coach. Her career head coaching record is 148-95.
