State Blows Past Virginia Tech 69-53

RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State men's basketball team continued its late-season surge with a resounding 69-53 win over Virginia Tech on Saturday night. The Wolfpack is turning in some of the most complete performances of the season down the stretch while improving to 16-11 overall (7-7 ACC).
Ralston Turner led the Wolfpack with 18 points, highlighted by 4-for-8 shooting from 3-point range. Trevor Lacey totaled 14 points with six assists and Anthony 'Cat' Barber added 10 points.
NC State shot .521 on the night and made 10 of its 26 tries from beyond the arc. Justin Bibbs led Virginia Tech with 19 points.
During the first half, the Pack built up a 25-10 lead wtih 5:29 left. As the half progressed, Virginia Tech rallied to shrink the lead before halftime. The Wolfpack took a 32-25 lead at the break
Virginia Tech came out of the second half hot and at one point converted 11 consecutive field goals. NC State's lead was 39-36 when it ripped off a 15-5 run to go up 54-41 with 9:56 to play. The lead would grow to 19 as State cruised the rest of the way.
Up Next: NC State takes on rival No. 15/16 UNC-Chapel Hill Tuesday, Feb. 24 at 8 p.m. The game will be broadcast on Fox Sports South and cleared regional affiliates.
