Koon to Run for Team USA

RALEIGH, N.C. - Wolfpack freshman Rachel Koon has been selected by USA Track and Field (USATF) to represent the United States at the 2015 APA Pan American Cross Country Cup in Barranquilla, Colombia, on Feb. 22.
Earlier this month, Koon ran in the USA Cross Country Championships in Boulder, Colo. She finished seventh in the junior women’s 6k with a time of 22:25, which earned her a spot on the national team.
The inaugural 2015 APA Pan American Cross Country Cup will feature senior men and women, as well as junior men and women’s races. Each team consists of five members, and will face off against national teams from North and South America.
Of the two Team USA events during 2015, NC State has been represented in both. In January’s Bupa Great Edinburgh Cross Country Challenge, freshman Mary Grace Doggett and signee Ryen Frazier helped Team USA to victory over Team Europe and Team Great Britain.
