RALEIGH, N.C. - The #5 NC State Wrestling team will head to Fairfax, Va., this weekend and face Grand Canyon University in a nuetral site dual at George Mason.
Â
Coming off wins at #4 Oklahoma State (19-15) and Appalachian State (21-14) last weekend, the Wolfpack (9-0) moved up eight spots in this week's USA Today/NWCA Division I Wrestling Coaches Poll and is currently ranked fifth in the country. In the individual rankings, the Pack continues to have six of its 10 starters ranked in the top-20 in their respective weight classes.
Grand Canyon sits at 3-5 on the season, but three of those losses have come to teams currently ranked in the top-20 nationally (Iowa, Minnesota, and Virginia). The lone common opponent this year was #17 Minnesota - the Pack defeated the Golden Gophers 31-3 while the Antelopes fell 31-3.
