1. LEGENDS CLASSICÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
After opening the season vs. William & Mary, NC State now enters a four-game stretch under the umbrella of the Legends Classic. The Pack will play home games vs. South Alabama and IUPUI before traveling to the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., to play Arizona State and either LSU or Marquette. A potential match-up with LSU on Nov. 24 would be a rematch of last season's NCAA Tournament, when the Pack edged the Tigers 66-65 in Pittsburgh. BeeJay Anya's left jump hook was the winning shot and propelled the Pack to a run to the Sweet 16.
2. SIGNS OF THINGS TO COME FROM CALEBÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
Despite Friday night's loss, NC State hopes the season opener was a foreshadowing of the future for Caleb Martin. The 6-7 sophomore wing scored a career-high 21 points and contributed four steals and two blocks against William & Mary. He set career highs for points, field goals (8), 3-pointers made (5), steals and minutes (38). His previous scoring high came last December when he scored 17 points against Charleston Southern in Reynolds Coliseum, a performance that garnered him an ACC Freshman of the Week honor.Â
3. HENDERSON ESTIMATED TO MISS 6-8 WEEKSÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
Terry Henderson, a redshirt junior from Raleigh who was projected as a starter for NC State this season, is expected to miss a minimum of 6-8 weeks after tearing ligaments in his right ankle on Friday night. He received x-rays and an MRI during the William & Mary game and will be continually monitored and evaluated. Henderson suffered the setback just seven minutes into his Wolfpack career after sitting out the 2014-15 season as a transfer. He averaged 11.7 points per game as a sophomore at West Virginia in 2013-14.

4. SOUTH ALABAMA'S GOTTFRIED PEDIGREEÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
Sunday's contests vs. South Alabama is the first all-time meeting between the two schools, yet Mark Gottfried is no stranger to the University of South Alabama. Gottfried's father, Joe Gottfried, served as athletic director at USA for 26 years until his retirement in 2009. The Wolfpack coach also graduated high school in Mobile, Ala., and still owns a home in Orange Beach, which is 67 miles from the South Alabama campus.

5. SO, HOW'S SOUTH ALABAMA?                                   Â
While South Alabama won just 10 games a year ago, the Jaguars are much improved. Under third year coach Matthew Graves, USA now has eligible a transfer (Nick Stover) who scored 17 points on Friday night as well as a 7-1 center from Bulgaria. Ken Williams, a 6-3 junior who was voted first team preseason All-Sun Belt, led South Alabama in its opener with 21 points.
