No. 24 NC State men's soccer hosts No. 3 Clemson on Friday at 7 PM on ESPN3 for Senior Night at Dail Soccer Stadium.
- The Wolfpack (8-4-3, 1-3-3 ACC) sits tied with Louisville for the No. 9 seed in the ACC Tournament at six points, one point shy of Duke. State would need to pass Duke and Louisville on Friday night to claim the No. 8 seed and a hosting gig for the first round of the conference tournament. Boston College holds the No. 7 spot with nine points. The Pack edged the Eagles early in the season.Â
- Clemson (13-1-2, 5-1-1) enters the match with a shot at the ACC's regular season crown. State trails 14-35-7 in the all-time series, and has not earned a point against the Tigers since a 2-0 win at Clemson in 2008.
- Parking for Friday's match will be affected by the Homecoming Parade going on around Hillsborough and Dan Allen. For fans attending the match, please use Western Boulevard and enter the campus on Morrill. A map of the parade route is included in the links above.Â
- Senior Night honors Holden Fender, Reed Norton, Seth Poole, Philip Carmon, and Alex McCauley as they suit up for the final time at Dail during the 2015 regular season:
Holden Fender joined the Pack ahead of the 2013 season and instantly claimed a leadership role. An ACC All-Academic honoree in 2013, Fender captured a CoSIDA Academic All-District mention this week, starting all 32 games he's played at NC State.
Reed Norton arrived in 2013 from Georgia Southern and carved out a spot as a mainstay on the back line. Norton has made 29 starts, scoring three goals during his career in Wolfpack red.
Seth Poole earned a captaincy this season after delivering steady guidance to a rapidly changing Wolfpack unit during his four year career. Poole appeared in only nine contests, but richly embodies the idea of a true student-athlete. His tireless effort and countless hours dedicated to the program reflect the measure of his character.Â
Philip Carmon appeared in an astounding 62 matches at NC State, during a long career that's seen him progress through undergraduate studies and into a graduate program. With four career goals dotted throughout, along with two assists, Carmon has touched more Wolfpack seasons than any of his teammates.Â
Alex McCauley stopped 118 shots in his Wolfpack career entering Friday's match, and his reassuring presence in goal deserves credit for much of State's recent success. A two-time ACC Player of the Week, McCauley sports a 1.28 GAA for the year, and brought his career shutout total to nine in 2015.
Friday night's match will stream live on ESPN3. Fans can also follow along with live stats from GoPack.com, or Twitter updates via @PackMensSoccer
