A WIN ON SUNDAY WOULD...

-Be NC State’s 322nd ACC win
-Be NC State’s fifth win over Syracuse (fifth meeting)
-Be NC State’s first win at Syracuse (first game)
SERIES HISTORY
-Sunday’s game marks the fifth all-time meeting between NC State and Syracuse.
-The Wolfpack holds a spotless 4-0 record in the series.
-NC State defeated Syracuse twice last season, winning 67-61 in the ACC opener and 79-63 in the quarterfinal round of the ACC Tournament.
-NC State has never played at Syracuse.
NOTING THE WOLFPACK
-NC State enters Sunday’s game the owner of a 12-7 record which includes a 3-3 mark in ACC play.
-The Wolfpack has won three of its last five games and most recently fell at home to No. 12 UNC-Chapel Hill by a final score of 67-63 on Jan. 22.
-All three of NC State’s starting guards average at least 10.5 points per game.
-When shooting between 40 and 50 percent this season, the Wolfpack is 9-1.
-NC State is the best free throw shooting team in the ACC, converting from the charity stripe at a .781 clip.
SCOUTING THE ORANGE
-Syracuse enters Sunday’s game the owner of a 14-5 record which includes a 4-2 mark in ACC play.
-After starting league play 0-2, the Orange is on a four-game winning streak.
-Briana Day (10.1 points, 10.5 rebounds) averages a dou¬ble-double while teammates Alexis Peterson (14.9 points), Brianna Butler (12.7), and Diamond Henderson (12.1) help to shoulder the load offensively.
ROSTER LIMITATIONS
Injuries have hampered the Wolfpack this season, as State is currently playing without two important guards: senior captain and regular starter Krystal Barrett (Dec. 19 knee injury) and McDonald’s All-American Honorable Mention Chloe Jackson (Nov. 21 foot injury). The Wolfpack is also without the services of 6-5 freshman center Sara Boric, who has not yet been cleared to play by the NCAA.
APPROACHING 600 WINS AND VERY ELITE COMPANY
With a career head coaching record of 595-184 (.763), Wes Moore is just five wins away from his 600th victory. If the milestone is achieved within the Wolfpack’s next 21 games, Moore will become just the ninth coach in NCAA history to achieve 600 victories in 800 games or less. Among the notable coaches who have met this criteria: Geno Auriemma and Pat Summitt.
10 POINTS OR BUST
Sophomores Dominique Wilson and Miah Spencer are the Wolfpack’s leading scorers at 14.3 and 14.0 points per game, respectively. Wilson just recorded her first career double-double (15 points, 10 rebounds vs. No. 12 UNC-CH) and has scored 10+ points on 16 occasions while Spencer has done so 15 times.
FUTURE IS BRIGHT
Five future Wolfpackers from the class of 2015 - Rydeiah Rogers, Amber Richardson, Kaila Ealey, Jonquanae Cole, and Lena Niang - were nominated on Jan. 14 to play in the 2015 McDonald’s High School All-American Game on April 1. The final roster will be announced on Jan. 28.
