
Road #STATEment: Pack Wins 72-63 At FSU

TALLAHASSEE - The NC State men's basketball team earned its first road win of the season with a 72-63 win at Florida State on Saturday afternoon.
NC State (13-6, 4-2) used a balanced attack on offense, with six players scoring at least seven points. Trevor Lacey led the Wolfpack with 17 points and five assists. Ralston Turner scored 15 points, including a clutch 3-pointer with the game tied, before fouling out. Caleb Martin and Kyle Washington each added eight points.
NC State dominated for much of the first half and at one point led 37-18. The Pack shot 56 percent in the period and took a 42-30 halftime lead. Florida State (9-9, 1-4) regrouped, cutting the lead to 52-49 when FSU's Montay Brandon recovered a loose ball and called timeout with 9:58 left in the game.
Florida State got the lead to 52-51 with 8 minutes left before a foul shot by BeeJay Anya and five points from put NC State ahead 58-52.
Turning Point : With the game tied at 60, NC State called timeout with 2:55 left. Turner buried a 3-pointer after the timeout. Later, with NC State leading 65-63, Lacey buried to free throws with 1:22 left and the Wolfpack would go on to ice the game.
Up Next: The Pack will return to Florida Thursday, Jan. 22 when it plays at Miami. That contest is an 8 p.m. tip on the ACC Network affiliates, WRAL-TV locally. The Wolfpack earned a 56-55 win at Miami last season.
