Excitement Grows For Men's Tennis At Pack Prowl

On Monday night, the NC State men's tennis team hosted Pack Prowl, an annual event aimed at getting the fans excited about the upcoming spring season. The event brought a large group of supporters ranging from NC State Tennis Academy students to members of the Student Wolfpack Club.
Pack Prowl served as an opportunity for the team to connect with its fans and build up awareness for the team's upcoming matches. Activities included team introductions, raffles, exhibitions, and t-shirt giveaways.

"It is just a great way to connect with the student body here at NC State and the other fans that come out and support us," said Beck Bond. "It signifies the awareness that Pack men's tennis has with the community."
It's Electric
"I thought the energy tonight was pretty electric," said Bond. "It seemed like everyone who came out here had fun. We interacted well with the crowd and they seemed to be really into it."
The loudest fans at the event were the students of the NC State Tennis Academy. These young tennis players started chants and eagerly joined in the team activities. The group helped create a buzz inside the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center.
Building A Connection
Most importantly, the men's tennis team established a connection between itself and the fans. As opposed to many exhibitions where teams may gain experience or try out different lineups and combinations, Pack Prowl was an event exclusively for the fans.
"Since we are men's tennis, we don't have the immediate support that the football and basketball teams have, so we put on events like this to increase awareness," said Robbie Mudge. "It creates a personal relationship with people and brings the fans to our matches."
Fans had the opportunity to enter a raffle for gift cards, participate in a fastest serve contest, and win t-shirts. Fans were able to test their tennis abilities by aiming at t-shirts and other prizes that were laid out on the court.
Home Opener
The Jan 16th match against No. 34 Northwestern was the message of the night as fans were encouraged to attend. The Pack is looking to avenge last year's early season loss to the Wildcats.
"The team is pretty experienced, we have a lot of juniors and seniors in our lineup and that is the first time in a long that I can say that," said head coach Jon Choboy. "We don't have an easy schedule, but we are a good team and good teams don't play easy schedules."
