
Track & Field Concludes Successful Weekend at Bob Pollock Classic

CLEMSON, S.C. - The NC State track and field team concluded a successful weekend at the Bob Pollock Classic on Saturday, totaling two first-place finishes and three second-place finishes on the afternoon.
Tremanisha Taylor, who set a NC State indoor record in the women's shot put last weekend, took home top honors in the event today with a throw of 52'11.00", while Elizabeth Shuman, a first-place finisher in the women's high jump at the Gene Anderson Invitational two weeks ago, stood alone at the top on Saturday with a leap of 5'07.00".
Jule Rich, winner of the weight throw in Friday's events, finished in second place in the men's shot put with a toss of 51'02.75", while Paisley Simmons secured the Wolfpack's other second place finish on the day in the women's 200 meter dash with a time of 24.66. Also competing in the same event, Tyra Lea crossed the finish line in sixth-place with a time of 25.24 in the women's 200m.
Jonathan Addison, who set a personal best in the men's long jump on Friday, took home a fourth-place finish in the men's high jump on Saturday with a leap of 6'9.00".
SeQuoia Watkins, the Wolfpack's final competitor on the day, finished in seventh in the women's shot put with a throw of 42'08.25".
Over the course of the two-day event, hosted by Clemson University, the Wolfpack totaled five first-place finishes and 13 top-five finishes in a field of 18 teams. NC State will head to Blacksburg, Va. next weekend for the Virginia Tech Elite Meet set to take place from Feb. 7-8.
