Seven-Day Trip Begins in NOLA for Wolfpack Women

RALEIGH – Off to its second straight 4-0 start to a season under second year head coach Wes Moore, the NC State women’s basketball team prepares to embark on a seven-day road trip which begins in New Orleans. On Monday evening at 6 p.m. (EST), the Wolfpack and Tulane Green Wave will tip off from Devlin Fieldhouse.

WHO SHOULD YOU GUARD?
NC State’s offense has been very balanced in its first four games of the 2014-15 season, as each Wolfpack victory featured four student athletes scoring in double figures. Miah Spencer (16.8 ppg.) is the team’s offensive leader to this point, while Dominique Wilson (15.3) and Carlee Schuhmacher (12.3) are not far behind.
ROAD TRIP!
On Sunday, Nov. 23, NC State embarks on a two-city, seven-day road trip. The Pack will play at Tulane on Nov. 24 before head¬ing to Freeport, Bahamas, to compete at the 2014 Junkanoo Jam. All stops considered, the Wolfpack will travel approxi¬mately 4,890 miles on the trip.
STEADY ELI
Junior forward Ashley Eli has quietly had a very steady 2014-15 season. The Texas native has averaged 13.5 minutes and 3.0 points per game while shooting 50 percent from the field.
FUNDAMENTALS
NC State had an incredibly accurate day at the free throw line against Coppin State, hitting 30 of 35 attempts. The Pack was 19-19 at the charity stripe to start the game. Through four games, the Pack is shooting 88-109 (80.7 percent) from the line.
SERIES HISTORY
-Monday’s game will serve as the second all-time meeting between NC State and Tulane.
-The Wolfpack defeated the Green Wave in Raleigh on Nov. 24 of last season, winning by a final score of 69-55.
SCOUTING THE GREEN WAVE
-Tulane enters Monday’s game the owner of a 3-0 record.
-The Green Wave has picked up victories this season against Mississippi Valley State (87-47), at McNeese State (75-55), and at regional power LSU (51-45).
-Tulane is shooting 48.5 percent from the field this season while holding its opponents to a mere 31.9 percent.
-Kolby Morgan and Danielle Blagg lead the way offensively for the Green Wave, averaging 13.7 and 11.3 points per game, respectively.
-Tulane was selected to finish fourth in the American Athletic Conference this season according to a preseason poll of the league’s coaches.
-Last season, the Green Wave ended the year with a first-round WNIT loss at Mississippi State.
