Cross Country Readies for NCAA Championships

RALEIGH, N.C.- The NC State cross country team will travel to Terre Haute, Ind. to compete in the NCAA Championships on Saturday, Nov. 22.
The championship will be hosted by Indiana State at the Lavern Gibson Cross Country Course. The women’s 6k race will begin at 12 p.m. ET, followed by the men’s 10k race at 1 p.m. ET.
Last Time Out
The women’s squad earned an at-large berth to the NCAA Championships due to its fifth place finish at the NCAA Southeast Regional Championship, while Sam Parsons earned a spot in the NCAA Championship race with his fourth place individual finish at the men’s regional championship.
Graham Crawford, Kenyetta Iyevbele, Erika Kemp, Parsons and Joanna Thompson garnered NCAA Southeast All-Region honors from their top 25 finishes at the regional championship.

Henes’ Perspective

Wolfpack Representation
Parsons will represent the Wolfpack men as an individual competitor. Representing the Wolfpack women will be: Bianca Bishop, Mary Grace Doggett, Samantha George, Kenyetta Iyevbele, Erika Kemp, Megan Moye and Joanna Thompson.
Scouting the NCAA Championship
31 teams and 38 individuals per division will compete in the NCAA Championships.The top 30 teams in both divisions that rank among the USTFCCCA NCAA Division I Cross Country National Coaches Polls will participate in Saturday’s championship races. The NC State women are listed at No. 24 in the final poll, released Nov. 17, heading into its final race of the 2014 season.
