Pack Opens Road Schedule at Charlotte Tuesday

RALEIGH – Off to a 2-0 start for the second straight season under head coach Wes Moore, the NC State women’s basketball team hits the road for the first time to play at Charlotte Tuesday evening. Tip-off between the Wolfpack and 49ers is scheduled for 7 p.m. from Halton Arena.

FUNDAMENTALS
NC State had an incredibly accurate day at the free throw line against Coppin State, hitting 30 of 35 attempts. The Pack was 19-19 at the charity stripe to start the game.
DOUBLED UP
Junior transfer Carlee Schuhmacher recorded the first double-double of the season on Nov. 16 against Coppin State, scoring 19 points and pulling down 11 rebounds. Six of her rebounds came on the offensive end.
CAREER HIGH
Sophomore captain Miah Spencer scored a career high 20 points in the win over Coppin State. Spencer was 5-10 from the field and a perfect 9-9 at the free throw line.
SERIES HISTORY
-Tuesday’s game will serve as the sixth all-time meeting between NC State and Charlotte.
-The Wolfpack holds a 5-0 edge in the all-time series.
-NC State last defeated Charlotte on Nov. 16 of the 2008 season in Raleigh, winning by a final score of 62-55.
-With the exception of a 112-43 blowout in the teams’ first meeting in 1978, every game in the series has been decided by 13 points or less with three of five coming down to single figures.
-NC State and Charlotte have never played one an other in the city of Charlotte.

-Charlotte enters Tuesday’s game the owner of a 1-0 record.
-The 49ers defeated Liberty in their first game of the season by a final score of 79-77.
-Charlotte was selected to finish fifth in Conference USA this season according to the league’s preseason poll.
-The 49ers posted a 15-16 record last season which included a 9-7 mark in C-USA play. Of the 49ers’ 16 losses, eight were by five points or fewer.
