Cross Country to Compete in Notre Dame Invitational

RALEIGH, N.C.- The NC State men's and women's cross country teams will compete in its second meet of the year on Friday when they travel to South Bend, Ind. to compete in the Notre Dame Invitational.
Geiger's Outlook
"I'm looking forward to this competition and getting a read on the program, getting a feel for where we're at as a program and having these athletes challenged at a little bit higher of a level than they were at the Adidas Challenge. Henes' Perspective
"We're really happy with how the girls came off of the Adidas Challenge, and have some people that have had two weeks of really good training since then. I think they're really ready for the challenge that Notre Dame will present."-Laurie Henes, women's head coach
Last Time Out
The Pack opened its 2014 fall season at the Adidas Challenge with two team wins. Joanna Thompson from the women's side took home the individual champion title while Sam Parsons finished second in the men's division. Parsons also broke the course record, previously set by NC State alum Ryan Hill in 2009.
Freshman Forces
-Four true freshmen, two from each team, will run their first meet as a part of the official lineup on Friday.
-From the men's side Aaron and Alec Thomas ran unattached in the Adidas Challenge with sub-14:50 times and finished in the top 10 in the overall individual standings.
-Mary Grace Doggett and Bianca Bishop from the women's squad finished fourth and seventh in the individual standings at the Adidas Challenge, running unattached with sub-17:30 times for the Wolfpack.
Schedule of Events
The Wolfpack women will run in the 5k "blue race" at 4:15 p.m. at the Notre Dame Golf Course, followed by the men in the five mile "blue race" at 5:00 p.m.
