RALEIGH, N.C.- The NC State cross country teams will compete on Saturday, Oct. 18 at the Indiana State Pre-National Invitational in Terre Haute, Ind.
The 2014 NCAA Championships will be held at Terre Haute on Nov. 22. Indiana State has hosted the championship for 10 of the last 12 years.
Geiger's Outlook
"In preparation for this weekend, the team has completed a number of challenging workouts on a facility that will simulate both the nationals course and the ACC Championships course.
"Racing at Pre-Nats this weekend will give our athletes valuable experience on the nationals course. This is also a great opportunity for the team to pick up some criteria points, which could help us in the post season."- Rollie Geiger, men's head coach
Henes' Perspective
"Overall as a program we were pretty pleased with Notre Dame. Joanna competed really well, and will be even better at 6k. Erika (Kemp), Mary Grace (Doggett) and Sammy (George) stayed close to each other the entire race, and we anticipate that being the case at Pre-Nats with Megan Moye in that group as well. All eight athletes that will travel are training at a high level and are excited to race.
"We are looking forward to the move up to 6k, and getting on the course that NCAAs will be run on. It will be a great opportunity to test our fitness and get familiar with the NCAA site."-Laurie Henes, women's head coach
