Pack Sits Eighth at Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate

JONESBOROUGH, Tenn. – The NC State men’s golf team completed the first round of play and nearly finished the second round Saturday at the 2014 Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate. With a team score of 555 (+2), the Wolfpack is currently tied for eighth place.
The second round of the tournament was halted due to darkness shortly after 7 p.m. ET.
James Chapman was the only Wolfpacker to complete his entire second round. Carter Simon, David Cooke, and Carter Page are currently through 16 holes in the second round while teammate Stanhope Johnson has played 17.
Cooke (-2) is leading the way for the Wolfpack, currently tied for 12th place in the field of 84 golfers. Not far behind is Page (-1), who is tied for 21st. Fresh off his recent victory in the 2014 Wolfpack Intercollegiate, Cooke is tied for first at the Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate in par three scoring, averaging 2.71 strokes per par-three hole at the Blackthorn Club.
Johnson (+2) and Chapman (+3) are sitting comfortably in the middle of the field, ranking tied for 36th and 42nd, respectively. Simon (+8) rounds things out for the Pack through the first two days of competition, sitting tied for 72nd.
The Wolfpack golfers will finish their second rounds beginning at 9 a.m. ET on Sunday. Shortly following the conclusion of this round, the Pack will begin play in the third and final round of the competition.
