
Wolfpack Completes First Day at Puerto Rico Classic

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico – The NC State men’s golf team completed the first round of tournament play at the 2015 Puerto Rico Classic on Sunday. Following one time through the Rio Mar River Course, NC State sits 14th with a score of 303 (+15).
The course was challenging on Sunday, especially the par threes and par fours. Of the 15 teams, only one averaged even par on the course’s shortest holes and three averaged even par of better on the par fours.
David Cooke and Stanhope Johnson led the way for the Pack on the first day of action, both tying for 30th with scores of 74 (+2). They were followed by teammates Jacob McBride (T53rd, +5) and James Chapman (T60, +6).
Carter Page rounded out the Pack’s first day at the competition, shooting a 79 (+7) to end the first of three rounds tied for 65th.
NC State will begin the second day of action at the Puerto Rico Classic on Monday morning at 8 a.m.
