RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State track & field team hosted its annual Wolfpack Last Chance Qualifier Friday evening at Derr Track, where several athletes posted season and career-best marks in their respective events.
Senior Danielle Adams once again topped her career-best mark in the women’s high jump, recording a 5’ 11.75” (1.81m) leap over the bar to take first place in the event. Adams topped her previous best by one inch – a mark she set at the Aggie Invitational on April 13.
In the men’s discus, redshirt sophomore Grant Pearce heaved a career-best 169’ 9.00” (51.75m) to claim second place. The mark was more than two and one-half feet better than his previous best of 167’ 1.00” set last season.
Competing in the women’s 1,500-meter run, senior Erin Mercer recorded the fastest time of any Wolfpack runner in the event this season at 4:23.04 to finish in second place, while sophomore Joanna Thompson posted the third-best time on the season for the women’s team with a 4:26.71 mark.
Senior Paige Eley put up a season-best mark in the women’s 100-meter dash with a 12.08 clocking, while sophomore Sharese Roberts matched her top time this season at 12.11.
