RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State men's tennis team will open conference play on Friday, Mar. 15, when it travels to UNC, before hosting Wake Forest Sunday, Mar. 17. First serve is set for 3 p.m., Friday and 2 p.m., Sunday.
"We're looking forward to opening ACC play," said head coach Jon Choboy. "The guys have been looking forward to it for a while. We've had about 19 days to train since our last match, which came almost at the halfway point in our season.
"The guys worked really hard during spring break, as we took a lot of time to work on some different areas of the game. As always the conference portion of the schedule will be challenging but we're looking forward to it."
The Wolfpack's doubles tandem of Dave Thomson and Sean Weber rank 12th in the latest ITA polls, released Tuesday. The duo owns a record of 13-5 on the season, including a 7-2 mark in dual matches. Against nationally ranked opponents, the pair is an impressive 4-1.
UNC has four singles players ranked among the top-125 in the country, according to the ITA polls. Wake Forest has one doubles pair in the rankings, as well as one ranked player in singles.
