Final Results
AIKEN, S.C. - The NC State men's golf team finished tied for third at the conclusion of the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate on Tuesday.
The Wolfpack shot a final round 13-over 293 to finish tied with Clemson at 24-over 864.
NC State shared the first-round lead with Augusta State, and was just one shot behind first-day leader South Carolina after Monday’s 36-hole marathon.
Augusta State won the team title at 16-over 856, while South Carolina finished second at 863, one stroke ahead of the Wolfpack.
Junior All-American Albin Choi led NC State with a tie for sixth-place showing at 6-over 212. The Toronto, Canada, native has finished sixth or better, including four victories, in seven of eight tournaments in the 2012-13 campaign.
Senior Mitch Sutton tied for 12th at 6-over 216. He matched Choi with a team-best 71 on Tuesday.
Freshman Chad Cox tied for 17th at 8-over 218 in his first action of the spring.
Junior Logan Harrell and sophomore James Chapman tied for 27th and 32nd at +12 and +13, respectively.
Matt Atkins from team host USC Aiken claimed individual medalist honors at 4-under 206. Virginia’s Max McLauglin was second at 2-under 208.
NC State returns to competition March 24-26 at the Hootie at Bull’s Bay Intercollegiate in Awandaw, S.C.
