RALEIGH, N.C. – Days off are somewhat of a rarity for NCAA Division I student-athletes. The NC State women’s basketball team put its most recent off day to good use on Tuesday afternoon, doing its part to give back to the community.
Student-athletes and members of the coaching staff spent the better part of the afternoon going to a local grocery store to select and purchase a Thanksgiving meal for a family in need residing in the Raleigh area.
The initiative was one of NC State’s Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), a group of which both senior Kody Burke and sophomore Ashley Eli are a part.

The NC State women’s basketball team is off to a 4-0 start under new head coach Wes Moore. The Wolfpack will next be in action at home on Sunday, Nov. 24 vs. Tulane. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m. at Reynolds Coliseum.
