PACIFIC PALISADES, Calif. - NC State senior Joelle Kissell completed play at the 2013 Riviera/ITA All-American Championships on Tuesday night, losing a pair of matches to end her tournament run.
Kissell, the nation's No. 45 ranked player overall, fell 5-7, 6-4, 2-6 to Lilly Kimbell of Georgia in her first round match to fall into the consolation bracket for qualifying singles players. From there, Kissell was ousted in straight sets by Carol Zhao of Stanford, 6-2, 6-3 to eliminate her from tournament play.
Kissell ends her three-year run in the prestigious tournament with an overall record of 1-4, having garnered a singles win last year. For her career, the Hostetter, Pa., native holds an all-time record of 74-39 at State and is just 10 wins away from setting a new all-time record for singles victories.
