Cross Country Set to Compete in Wisconsin Invitational

RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State men's and women's cross country teams will head to Madison, Wisc. this weekend to take part in the fifth-annual Wisconsin Invitational, set for Saturday, Oct. 19 at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course.
The men's 8k race will begin at noon (EST), while the women's 6k starts at 1 p.m. (EST). Live streaming of both races will be available on Flotrack.org.
The men's side will consist of 36 total teams overall, and feature 20 of the nation's top 30 programs. The women's draw will be just as competitive with 37 teams vying for the top spot, including 17 of the top 30 and seven of the top 10.
The Wolfpack men and women are both coming off top-10 finishes in their last event, the Roy Griak Invitational, with the men finishing seventh and the women placing eighth. Senior Andrew Colley finished fourth overall in his first race of the year, while Joanna Thompson led the women with a 10th-place finish.
The State men head into the Wisconsin Invitational currently ranked fifth in the Southeast Region in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) Division I Regional Rankings. The State women find themselves ranked fourth regionally.
