RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State men's tennis team will kick off the 2013 season on Friday, Jan. 11 at the Illini Invitational in Fort Myers, Fla. Action will get underway at 10 a.m. on Friday with doubles play, followed by singles beginning at 11:30 a.m.
"Having a tournament a week after the guys get back to school is certainly going to be challenging, but it's the same situation for the other schools as well," head coach Jon Choboy said. "It'll be a good opportunity for us to play a lot of players at a lot of different spots."
The Wolfpack open the season ranked 40th in the ITA men's team rankings, and will be joined at the invitational by teams from No. 12 Florida, No. 59 Georgia Tech and No. 16 Illinois. The entire roster will make the trip to Florida to compete in the tournament.
"The guys will continue to compete to see what order we ultimately set the lineup," Choboy said. "So this weekend a lot of players will get different looks and we'll have a couple different combinations in doubles matches.
"We'll get a good idea of what we want to do with the lineup heading into the next few weeks after the tournament this weekend," Choboy said.
Results will be posted to GoPack.com at the conclusion of play each day.
