RALEIGH, N.C. - The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) released its weekly regional team rankings Monday, and the NC State women's cross country team overtook ACC rival Virginia for the top spot in the Southeast Region poll. The men's team remained in first place, where they have been ranked all season thus far.
Both squads posted first place finishes at the Adidas Invitational back on Sept. 14, where seven Wolfpack runners were among the top-10 finishers in both races.
Both the men's and women's teams will travel north to South Bend, Ind., for the Notre Dame Invitational on Friday, Sept. 28. Several members of the women's team will compete in the annual Great American Cross Country Festival, which is slated for a 4:25 p.m. start at the WakeMed Cross Country Course in Cary, N.C.
