RALEIGH, N.C. - Wolfpack softball will host play host to ACC foe Boston College this weekend for a three-game series. Action begins Friday, April 5 with a doubleheader at 5 and 7 p.m., then concludes Saturday, April 6 at noon at Dail Stadium.
State looks to build upon its strong performance during a 9-3 defeat of East Carolina Wednesday. In that game, the Pack offense posted 14 hits and freshman pitcher Emily Weiman did not surrender an earned run.
NC State (16-22, 0-8 ACC) is lead at the plate this season by redshirt junior Bethaney Wells. The Harrisburg, N.C. native paces the Pack with a .309 batting average, 34 hits, seven home runs and 30 RBI. Senior pitcher Morgan Peeler sports the Wolfpack's best ERA at 2.69, and Weiman trails closely behind at 2.70.
Boston College (19-13, 1-5 ACC) dropped two of three contests to Virginia last weekend, and fell to UMass in mid-week action this week. The Eagles are led offensively by Brittany Wilkins, who owns a .384 batting average.
Nicole D'Argento has shouldered the majority of the Eagles' time in the circle this season with 93 innings pitched. She owns the third-best ERA on the squad, though, at 3.24.
Following this weekend's action, the Wolfpack return to the field on Wednesday, April 11 to take on Campbell for a 4 and 6 p.m. doubleheader at Dail Stadium.
