Men's Golf Moves Up to 12th at Schenkel Invitational

STATESBORO, Ga. – The NC State men’s golf team is in 12th after two rounds of the Schenkel Invitational at Forest Heights Country Club.
The Wolfpack fired a second-round 2-under 286 and stands at 11-over 587 through 36 holes.
Senior Chad Day tied his collegiate low with a 4-under 68 and is now tied for 41st at 2-over 146.
Senior Mark McMillen shot an even-par 72 yesterday, and followed that up with a 4-over 76 and is tied for 56th at 4-over 148.
Junior Mitchell Sutton rebounded from an opening-round 79 to shoot a 2-under 70 on Saturday and is now tied for 63rd at 5-over 149.
Red-shirt freshman James Chapman is tied with Sutton after an even-par 72 today.
Freshman Andrew Decker is tied for 69th at 6-over 150.
Alabama followed up yesterday's tournament record 20-under 268 with a 19-under 269 and now is at -39 with 18 holes to play. Virginia is in second at -18, and Auburn is in third at -17.
Ben Kohles of Virginia maintained its one-shot lead after shooting a 6-under 66 and is at -13. Alabama's Cory Whitsett is at -12, and Auburn's Blayne Barber is at -11.
