First Round Results
STATESBORO, Ga. – The NC State men’s golf team is in 13th after round one of the Schenkel Invitational at Forest Heights Country Club.
The Wolfpack fired a round of 13-over 301 on day one of the three-day event.
Senior Mark McMillen shot an even-par 72 and is tied for 24th. He had three birdies and three bogeys to finish even for the day.
Freshman Andrew Decker is tied for 48th after a 2-over 74. He matched McMillen with three birdies as well on his round.
Red-shirt freshman James Chapman finished with a 5-over 77 and is tied for 66th.
Senior Chad Day and junior Mitchell Sutton are tied for 75th and 77th after respective rounds of 6-over 78 and 7-over 79.
Alabama shot a tournament record 20-under 268, and holds a 12 shot lead over Florida and Ole Miss.
Ben Kohles of Virginia has a one-shot lead after shooting a 7-under 65 on Friday. Four others, including three from Alabama are a shot behind.
