Pack Primed for ITA Carolina Regionals

RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State men's tennis team will take part in the 2012 USTA/ ITA Carolina Regional Championships, held at the Cary (N.C.) Tennis Park Thursday, Oct. 18 - Sunday, Oct. 22. The Carolina region consists of teams from North and South Carolina.
The Wolfpack will send eight players as Trey Carter, Simon Norenius, Rafael Paez, Austin Powell, Ivan Sanchez Gomez, Dave Thomson, Sean Weber and Thomas Weigel will all compete in singles play. Powell is seeded ninth in the singles field and received a first-round bye as a result, to advance to the field of 64.
Singles play is set to get underway on Thursday, Oct. 18 at 9 a.m., while doubles play is scheduled to begin on Friday, Oct. 19 at 9 a.m.
Four teams will represent the Pack in doubles play as Powell/Weigel, Carter/Sanchez Gomez, Norenius/Paez and Thomson/Weber will compete in the field.
Results will be posted at the conclusion of play each day to GoPack.com.
