Men's Tennis Announces 2011-12 Schedule

RALEIGH, N.C. – The NC State men’s tennis team will host 18 home matches in the new Curtis and Jacqueline Dail Outdoor Tennis Stadium this spring, head coach Jon Choboy announced Friday with the release of the Wolfpack’s 2012 tennis schedule.
“It’s a challenging, but well-balanced schedule,” said Choboy, who is entering his 10th season as the head coach of the Wolfpack. “I think we have an excellent group of opponents coming in that our fans will enjoy seeing, especially in our new stadium.”
The Wolfpack returns nearly its entire roster from last season, including two-time All-ACC performer Jaime Pulgar and senior Dominic Hodgson. Choboy has also added a highly regarded recruiting class of Beck Bond of Meriden, Conn.; Robbie Mudge of Mooresville, N.C.; and Austin Powell of Muscle Shoals, Ala.
Choboy’s team will play a limited number of tournaments this fall, beginning next weekend at the Duke Nike Fab Four in Cary, N.C.
The Pack’s spring season will open on Jan. 14, with matches against Gardner-Webb, UNC Asheville and The Citadel. The following weekend, Penn State and East Carolina will visit the new stadium.
Construction is nearly complete at the new facility, which features six well-lit outdoor courts, chair-back seating for more than 1,000 fans and a new electronic scoreboard.
“I think it will really be a great viewing experience for everyone,” Choboy said.
