NC State softball completed its regular season this past weekend, April 30 through May 1, taking 2-of-3 games from ACC-foe Virginia. On Saturday, between doubleheader contests, the Wolfpack program took time to celebrate the 2011 senior class. The individual achievements of Alicia Abbott, Alyssa Allbritten, Bridget Desbois and Alyssa Ishibashi were recognized by head coach Lisa Navas and the entire coaching staff. Following the weekend, GoPack.com asked each member of the class to reminisce about her time at NC State, and share her plans for future endeavours.
Desbois' answers will be the first in the series of four.
Why did you choose NC State?
I chose NC State because I wanted to play for Coach Navas and I
 loved the campus.
Overall, Raleigh is just a great place to be, and the Wolfpack program has such great tradition.
What's the best part of competing in the ACC?
The ACC is such a well known conference. It feels great to know that
we are playing the best teams on the East Coast. It also keeps me
close to home.
What's your best memory at NC State?
My best memory is definitely taking the series from UNC my junior year.
What was your favorite part of senior day? The hardest part?
My favorite part was the numbers drawn in chalk at the positions of the seniors and
winning both games. The hardest part was knowing that was the last
series I will ever play on our field.
What's your favorite part of traveling? Favorite city?
My favorite part of traveling is being with the girls on the team and having a lot of
fun. My favorite city is College Park, Md., because it is so close to
 home for me.
Knowing what you know now, what advice do you have for your current teammates?
I would tell them to go out and have fun. Play the game like you are five years old because then, you
will not be so hard on yourself.
Give some advice to incoming freshmen.
I would tell them to play hard and have fun. Working hard will always pay off in the end.
What's your favorite Coach Navasism?

It's hilarious when she says, "What a concept!".
What's your major and what do you plan to do with it?
I am majoring in Biological sciences with a concentration in human biology, but I
have no clue what I want to do.
What are your plans for next year?
Getting a job!
