
Henry Earns All-ACC Honors in Hammer Throw

DURHAM, N.C. – Junior Lawanda Henry earned her second All-ACC honor in the hammer throw, finishing third with a season-best toss of 181-feet, 1-inch at the 2011 ACC Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Duke’s Wallace Wade Stadium.
Her finish earned six points for the Wolfpack women’s team, which was eighth in the three-day event with a total of 39.5 points. Clemson won the women’s title with 202 points.
Junior Andie Cozzarelli and freshman Erin Mercer finished fifth and sixth, respectively, in the 5,000-meter race to contribute seven points to the team total. Cozzarelli posted a time of 16:40.58, while Mercer crossed the line at 16:47.41.
Freshman Lillian Greibesland was seventh in the 1,500-meter finals with a career-best time of 4:24.53.
For the men, fifth-year senior Adam Henken was fourth in the 5,000-meter race with a time of 13:59.79, followed closely by teammate Andrew Colley in sixth place at 14:04.13.
The men finished with 50 total points in the meet to finish seventh overall.
Florida State won the men’s title with 174.50 points.
Sprinters T.J. Graham and Benjamin Major III both earned points for the men in the finals of the 100-meter and 200-meter dashes. Graham had a personal-record of 10.37 seconds in the 100 and finished fifth overall in the record-setting event. Major was seventh at 10.87 seconds.
Graham was seventh in the 200 at 21.40 seconds, followed by Major. Junior Daniel Fretz was eighth in the finals of the 800-meter run in a time of 48.42 seconds.
Junior Kwame Boatwright was sixth in the triple jump at 49-feet, 1 ½-inches.
