RALEIGH, N.C. - NC State softball travels to East Carolina on Wednesday, April 13 for a mid-week non-conference doubleheader. The first pitch is slated for 4 p.m. in Greenville, N.C.
The Wolfpack looks to rebound from a tough weekend where the squad dropped 2-of-3 games to North Carolina at Curtis and Jacqueline Dail Softball Stadium. In midweek action last Wednesday, NC State handily swept Charlotte, which gave head coach Lisa Navas her 600th career win.
Senior catcher Alyssa Allbritten paces the Wolfpack at the plate with a .351 batting average, six doubles and 24 RBI in the 2011 season. Bethaney Wells has knocked a team-leading six homeruns in the campaign to go along with 24 RBI.
Freshman hurler Kayla Cox owns a 3.53 ERA and nine wins, both of which are tops for the Wolfpack.
Following Wednesday's action, the Pack will travel to College Park, Md. for an ACC series against the Maryland Terrapins. Action will begin with a doubleheader Saturday, April 16 at 1 p.m. , and will conclude Sunday at noon.
