Goodwin-Coleman Named ACC Rookie of the Week

GREENSBORO, N.C. - NC State freshman guard Myisha Goodwin-Coleman was named Atlantic Coast Conference Rookie of the Week for the week of Feb. 7, as voted on by the league's "Blue Ribbon Panel". The panel consists of national and local media members, as well as school representatives.
In her first two career starts, the Lorton, Va., native averaged 15.5 points and 5.0 assists while leading the Pack to a 1-1 finish for the week. In the two outings, Goodwin-Coleman shot 66.7 percent from the field off 12-of-18 shooting, including an impressive 7-of-10 from behind the arc.
The rookie tallied a career-high 17 points in a 76-49 trouncing of Fairfield on Tuesday, adding five assists and four steals to her impressive game totals. She followed that showing with a 14 point, five-assist outing on Sunday, despite falling to No. 10 Maryland in College Park, Md.
Goodwin-Coleman is the second member of the Wolfpack women's basketball team to garner Rookie of the Week honors this season, following Kody Burke, who was tabbed for the week of Dec. 27, 2010.
NC State is the only ACC school in the 2010-2011 season to have two different freshmen named Rookie of the Week.
