The NC State women's basketball team is taking part in the Pepsi Rainbow Wahine Invitational on Dec. 28-30 in Honolulu, Hawaii. The schedule of the tournament is located above. The Wolfpack will be playing all three of its opponents for the very first time.
State is 5-0 all-time in two previous tournaments hosted by the University of Hawaii - 1990 and 2000. This also marks the first Christmas time tournament for the program since playing at the University of Florida in 2006.
The Wolfpack is coming off its best win of the season to date, a 66-59 victory over then No. 20/18 and unbeaten Vanderbilt on Sunday, Dec. 18, improving to 7-3 on the year. Sophomore Kody Burke scored a career-high 21 points against the Commodores, and in the process was named College Sports Madness National and ACC Player of the Week.
Additionally, senior forward Bonae Holston was tabbed ACC Player of the Week by the conference after averaging 18.0 points and 8.5 rebounds in two games of that same week.
NC State continues to be one of the strongest rebounding teams in the nation, ranking 12th in rebound margin (+11.0). The club also leads the ACC in offensive rebounds per game with 19.3, and sits second in overall rebounding at 47.3 per contest.
