College Sports Madness has named NC State forward Kody Burke its National Women's Basketball Player of the Week and ACC Player of the Week for her exceptional performance during the past week ending Sunday, Dec. 18.
The Northridge, Calif., native scored a career-high 21 points in the 66-59 win over No. 20/18 Vanderbilt on Sunday at Reynolds Coliseum.
Burke was nearly unstoppable in the first half against the Commodores, scoring 17 points before halftime as the Pack took a 34-22 lead at the break.
In fact, when Burke got to 17 points, Vandy only had scored 14 points as a team with nearly six minutes left until halftime.
She finished 7-of-13 shooting, and 6-for-6 from the free throw line, with four rebounds, and one block in 33 minutes.
Earlier in the week, the sophomore had five points, four boards and three blocks against Richmond.
The Madness identifies the highest impact players nationally and one from each conference in their weekly feature.
