NC State Concludes Day One of Kitty Harrison Invitational

DURHAM, N.C. – NC State had a successful outing on day one of the Kitty Harrison Invitational, winning four of six in singles and picking up another two wins in doubles play.
NC State picked up four wins in singles play against UNC-Greensboro to highlight the day. Ashley Miller defeated Dilara Yurtkuran 6-1, 6-2, and Elisha Hande topped Alex Whitehead 6-3, 6-4. Christy Sipes dropped the Spartans’ Lucy Dougherty 6-0, 6-4, and Chloe Smith beat Annette Rios 6-1, 6-3.
In doubles play, the NC State took home two of three from Minnesota. Tatiana Illova and Hande teamed up to defeat the duo of Natallia Pintusava and Yuliana Umantes 9-8, while Sipes and Sophie Nelson defeated Doron Muravnik and Emilie Renault 8-2.


The Pack will return to action tomorrow at 10 a.m. All of the Wolfpack's remaining matches will take place at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, N.C.
