NC State hosts unbeaten and third-ranked Duke on Sunday in a rematch of last season's ACC Tournament title game. The game will be broadcast nationally on Fox Sports Net. All tickets for the game are just $1 as part of the Pack the House promotion in an attempt to attract a sell-out crowd against the 18-0 Blue Devils.
Additionally, all fans that bring a ticket stub from the NC State men's basketball game on Sunday at noon will get in free to the women's game at 5 p.m.
The Wolfpack has lost its last four meetings with Duke, but did pick up a win the last time the Blue Devils faced NC State without a loss. It came in the 2007 ACC Tournament when the 24th-ranked Pack spoiled No. 1 Duke's perfect season, 70-65.
Junior Bonae Holston enters Sunday's game 29 points shy of 1,000 for her career. She would become the 27th member of the 1,000-point club at NC State, and the first junior to join since Kaayla Chones in 2002-03.
NC State is in the midst of playing five ACC teams ranked in the top-25 in a span of six games, something that has never happened in school history. The stretch began on Friday, Jan. 14 with an 83-76 setback at No. 11 North Carolina. The only unranked team the Pack will play in the stretch is Boston College, who was ranked for two weeks earlier this season. After No. 3 Duke on Sunday, NC State visits No. 17 Miami, hosts No. 22 Florida State and then visits No. 15 Maryland.
Sophomore Marissa Kastanek enters the matchup averaging 25.5 points over the last two games. That includes a career-high 30 at North Carolina and 21 points last time out at Boston College. She has made 11-of-22 three-point attempts over the two contests.
The Wolfpack hits the road to face the Hurricanes on Thursday at 7 p.m. Miami is currently riding a 17-game winning streak entering its Monday night matchup with in-state rival Florida State.
NOTE: NC State has rescheduled its game with Fairfield for Tuesday, Feb. 1 at 7 p.m.
