Junior Bonae Holston enters Thursday's game 39 points shy of 1,000 for her career. She would become the 27th member of the 1,000-point club at NC State, and the first junior to join since Kaayla Chones in 2002-03.
NC State is in the midst of playing five ACC teams ranked in the top-25 in a span of six games, something that has never happened in school history. The stretch began Friday with an 83-76 setback at No. 11 North Carolina. The only unranked team the Pack will play is Boston College, who was ranked for two weeks earlier this season. After BC, NC State hosts unbeaten and No. 3 Duke on Sunday, visits No. 17 Miami, hosts No. 22 Florida State and then visits No. 15 Maryland.
This years club is having no problems scoring and rebounding the basketball. In fact, the club is scoring at a clip not seen since the mid-90's, while the 45.9 rebound per-game average is the highest number since the 1978-79 campaign.
NC State hosts Duke at Reynolds this Sunday at 5 p.m. The game is a national televised broadcast on Fox Sports Net.
