RALEIGH, N.C. - Head coach Jon Choboy and the NC State men's tennis program began the 2011 spring season on Wednesday night by hosting "Pack Prowl," offering a free clinic and putting on an open intrasquad scrimmage.
The event gave students and fans of the program an opportunity to get to know the coaching staff and student-athletes, as well as a chance to learn more about the sport.
"We had a tremendous turnout last night for our first annual `Pack Prowl' event," said Choboy. "We really want to thank the Student Wolfpack Club, the club tennis team, the student body and our fans that attended the event. Next year we'll have to bring in more seating because last night was standing room only.
"Now we want to keep that momentum going and have as many fans as possible for our matches on Saturday at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center."
NC State will officially begin the season this Saturday, Jan. 15, by hosting Davidson (10 a.m.) and UNC Wilmington (6 p.m.) on campus at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center. Live results will also be available via GoPack.com.
