NC State makes the short trip Friday to take on long-time rival North Carolina at Carmichael Auditorium beginning at 7 p.m. The Wolfpack has won five of its last six games, including an 80-59 toppling of Wake Forest on Monday night.
Amber White hit for a game-high 22 points against the Deacons, while forwards Kody Burke and Bonae Holston tossed in 15 and 14 points, respectively.
Kellie Harper and co., will look to win in Chapel Hill for a second straight time after Holston's 20 points helped beat the Tar Heels 74-63 last February. Then a freshman, Marissa Kastanek drained four 3-pointers in a 17-point performance, and Brittany Strachan added 15 points off the bench.
This years edition is having no problems scoring and rebounding the basketball. In fact, the club is scoring at a clip not seen since the mid-90's, while the 45.9 rebound per-game average is the highest number since the 1978-79 campaign.
NC State visits Boston College next Thursday, Jan. 20 in Chestnut Hill, Mass., at 7 p.m.
