RALEIGH, N.C. - The NC State men's tennis program will launch its spring season by hosting "Pack Prowl" this Wednesday, Jan. 12 at the J.W. Isenhour Tennis Center at 6 p.m. Attendance is free to any and all fans of Wolfpack athletics, and it will count as a point event for Student Wolfpack Club members.
"This is an exciting event for us," said head coach Jon Choboy. "It's the first time we've done this, and we are trying to get as many fans out as possible. We want our fans to meet this team and get to know them, because we are going to need them to come out and cheer us on during the season as we compete in a very tough ACC.
"When we open up our new stadium next season, we are going to make a push to create the best home environment in all of college tennis. Having great crowd support goes hand-in-hand with the facilities that we will be using, so we want to really get our fans dialed into what we are doing here at NC State."
The program will offer a free clinic to all Wolfpack fans from 6 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., before holding an open intrasquad scrimmage from 7 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. Door prizes and team t-shirts will be awarded to fans in attendance, and Domino's pizza will be available.
Fans interested in attending the free clinic are asked to please bring their own rackets.
NC State will open its spring 2011 season this Saturday, Jan. 15, with bouts against Davidson (10 a.m.) and UNC Wilmington (6 p.m.).
